Welcome.
A little about me;
My name is Krystal Mollett. I live in Greenville, Illinois with my husband and two sons. While I started out as a special education teacher, I have been blessed to be a stay-at-home mother since my oldest was born. During my time at home, I have stayed busy caring for my family. I have always been conscious of my health, but once I became a mother, my interest in being healthy amplified. So many products are full of chemicals and unnecessary additives. When my oldest was diagnosed with eczema and keratosis pilaris, and my youngest with asthma and eczema, I was determined to make changes. I stumbled upon tallow on my search for products to help my kiddo’s skin. After purchasing other tallow-based products, it gave me an idea. As a family we have raised our own beef and butchered it as well. I was determined to make my own tallow products; and that is how this small business started. I am just a mother on the search for better products for her kiddos.

Why Tallow?
Tallow has so many great benefits when it comes to skin care. I am going to list just a few. This is why it makes a great mineral sunscreen as well.
it can reduce inflammation
hydrates skin
provides antioxidants, vitamins and mineral’s necessary for our skin
works well on sensitive skin
the fatty acids are so similar to our skin it makes it the best to nourish and rebuild our skin
doesn’t clog pores
helps reduce skin issues such as eczema, keratosis pilaris, cradle cap
improves your skin’s natural barrier (this means you can use it before makeup and then your makeup won’t clog your pores)
soothes acne scars
has anti-aging properties
Facts about products I make
I personally render all the tallow I use. It takes a minimum of two times of rendering before the tallow is pure and ready to be made into various products.
Body Butter
I make body butter on demand. I have so many scents, it would be impossible to have some of each scent available. It usually only takes me 24 hours to make. The environment your body butter is in can change its consistency.
Candles and Wax Melts
Candles and wax melts take longer to make. Once they are poured, they must cure for 2-4 weeks. This really depends on the size and what fragrance or essential oil is used. I usually use fragrance oils; they give off a more potent smell. Essential oils don’t smell as much when burned. Candles can oxidize when oxygen hits it and when they are burned. They can turn a light brown. There is nothing wrong with the candle or wax melt if this occurs. I use hemp wicks which burn cleaner, and the smoke won’t be as harmful to the air.
Soap Bars
Soap takes the longest to make as it takes 6 weeks to fully cure. This is to ensure the bar is hard enough and ready to be used as hand soap or in the shower. I use both essential oils, and fragrance oils that are safe for skin in my soap. Fragrance oils, again, have a more potent smell. Whereas you may not be able to smell the essential oil in the soap as well. Some soaps have additives such as flowers and coffee. These will come out in the shower.
Sunscreen
My sunscreen is a work in progress. I would love to offer larger sizes. It appears white when applied like most mineral-based sunscreens but eventually will sink into the skin. It is up to 50 spf. This is because it was made in house, not in a scientific area where it can be tested. It will need to be reapplied if you are outside for multiple hours. This small size is great for faces and shoulders and doesn’t cause irritation for my sons’ eyes or burn his skin. The product contains zinc oxide which is what makes it a mineral-based sunscreen.
